As a competitor, ultra marathoning in remote adverse environments is the most amazing life experience. However, it is not without significant risk. Watching Exped Medics treat fellow competitors with serious issues left me blown away at their skill, compassion and ability to think on their feet – they became friends and a fundamental part of the race as they went above and beyond to get us to the finish line. All whilst maintaining a professional detachment to make the big race ending calls when needed.
